Ngā Maunga Whakahii o Kaipara Whenua Hoko Holdings Ltd (‘Whenua Hoko’) manages the property assets and investments for Ngā Maunga Whakahii o Kaipara, the Post (Treaty) Settlement Governance Entity established under the Ngāti Whātua o Kaipara Claims Settlement Act 2013. Whenua Hoko is a wholly owned subsidiary of Ngā Maunga Whakahii o Kaipara Commercial Development Ltd, which in turn is owned by Ngā Maunga Whakahii o Kaipara Custodian Trustee Limited / Development Trust.

The purpose of the Ngā Maunga Whakahii o Kaipara trust is to receive, administer, manage protect and govern the Trust’s assets to ensure the cultural, environmental commercial and social development of Ngāti Whātua o Kaipara for the benefit of its members. Whenua Hoko was established in 2016 with the purpose of managing the Treaty Settlement property rights and opportunities of Ngā Maunga Whakahii o Kaipara. These include rights of first refusal to Crown land in the extensive rohe of Ngāti Whātua o Kaipara.

Whenua Hoko is managed by Daniel Clay, Tumuaki / CEO.

Whenua Hoko’s objectives are to grow the property assets and income of the Development Trust while exercising kaitiakitanga and reflecting Ngāti Whātua o Kaipara in all developments and properties in which it is involved. This includes providing cultural design input into the built and natural environment, and reflecting the significance and history of the area from the Ngāti Whātua o Kaipara perspective including through naming the developments and roads.
